Remember how big of a difference it was going from a 6" XR hub to a 6.5" GT hub? Well double that feeling, but in the other (actually good) direction and you'll start to get an idea of how amazing the MTE 5" hub rides.

For XR & GT riders:
N42: Highest speed, perfect for downhill racers trying to hit 30 mph, but also the lowest cost option for anyone who isn't pushing their board to the limit. (Stock XR & GT = N42)
N48: Jeff's Favorite, a balanced option for those who like to ride through pushback at around 23 mph, and also want a little extra torque for climbing hills.
N52/N52 (Curved): Highest torque option, perfect for anyone who "respects pushback" and keeps it around 20 mph, and also wants the maximum extra torque for hills. Curved edition has custom made curved magnets for increased performance.

For GTS riders:
We recommend the N52 which is nearly identical to the stock GTS hub performance.  The N48 or N42 will also work but you'll lose 5-10% torque with the benefit being an even higher top speed if that's what you're looking for.

5 inch mte cast n42

If you have been wondering if there will be a difference in how it feels and rides. There is! Alot more stable and feels alot smoother on the street that extra tire sidewall really does help the ride and feel of the board. I'm extremely happy with it. I use to run 8-12psi with my 6.5 wheel and would hit rim now it's butter! My favorite upgrade so far. Currently riding a gt with wtf rails pre leveled. Kush high in the back. With the gradient tracking the n42 has been ok for me.

High quality

You get what you pay for. I had already installed a GTV controller, and that alone made the board feel like it had enuf torque to never nosedive at low speeds anymore. With the addition of this N52 hub, my board feels bulletproof against nosedives. Of course, this is the line of thinking that leads to nosedives, but what are you gonna do. It's madness that the GT doesn't come with a 5" hub stock.

Best Onewheel upgrade

After riding an XR for thousands of miles then switching to the 5" hub it was surprising how much smoother the ride was. I had about 400 miles on the 5" hub on my XR before I started riding a 6" hub vesc board and I really miss the MTE hub. Going back up to 6" hub was a lot less smooth and the rough parts of the trails are a lot more noticeable. I missed the MTE after the first ride on a 6" hub again. If you are coming from a GT to MTE it must be an amazing upgrade. I wish the MTE could fit the super flux motor.

Awesome sauce!

You can feel the power and I didn't notice that the speed would decrease. Definitely the best update on GT.
