What are Float Plates?

  • Protect your investment. The stock plastic battery and controller compartments are weak and prone to breakage. Float Plates are engineered for over 3,000 PSI of impact!
  • Expand your bag of tricks. No need to wax that curb, as the Float Plates are self-lubricating. Slides, stalls, and drops all damn day!
  • These float plates have sizes to fit the Pint X model.
  • Reduces friction on nosedives. Also great for nose and tail slides. Let's see what you can do!

Are Onewheel float plates necessary?

Yes, you need Onewheel Float Plates if you want to preserve your Onewheel Pint X. Without a Onewheel Float Plate, you're likely to damage or break that soft underbelly. The Onewheel Float Plate is designed to protect that underside and preserve your investment.

Love these

I bought an all white set of bumpers and rail covers so I could ride sometimes with a crisp clean look on the board. These are keeping my bumpers nice and scratch free. Will definitely get more once I need them.

Pint x float plates

Plates fit perfectly and protect battery and bumper. All one wheels should come with float plates.

Not sure they're for me, but not bad

Initially couldn't find any instructions or videos online about the best way to line these up and install them. Tried cleaning the board and lining it up. The back seemed fine but the front didn't seem to fit right. Getting the tape off the adhesive was difficult and I had to use a razor blade. Got all four pads exposed and found it difficult to line it up before it started sticking and making it hard to re-align. Pressed firmly around, installing front and back plates. Then took it out for a ride and the front one popped right off the first time I hit a bump.

Came home, found the business card sized instructions stuffed in with the stickers and stuff they send. They are basically "clean it and wait 24 hours after applying to use it." So fine, I get all the old pads off and add new pads, apply it to the front (still no really obvious way of lining it up and there's still a big gap) and I waited 24 hours before going out.

So now I've hit a few bumps and they haven't popped off, but they're getting a ton of dirt and grass and stuff in between the plate and the board. So it's only a matter of time before they pop back off. Maybe they would fit better if my board was brand new and I hadn't scraped any off the front or back? I dunno.

EDIT: So I just got another pack of them in the mail? I guess you guys saw my review. So I'm going to go ahead and add another two stars for two reasons. One, I always appreciate a company that stands behind their product and wants to make their customers happy. Two, it's been about a week and I've definitely hit some gnarly bumps and they have not fallen off. I guess waiting the 24 hours and repositioning made a big difference. I expect long term I will keep them on my back side but switch to something else on the front.
