OK fine, you want tread?! Well then we're going to give you more tread than you can handle! We developed the Pioneer to have the deepest and widest tread available on a Onewheel tire BY FAR.

The Pioneer was created with the wintertime rider in mind. The rider who doesn't let a little rain or snow stop their fun. The 2.5mm deep siping on the treads significantly improves traction in wet/icy/snowy conditions and the 6mm wide and 5.5mm deep treads on the Pioneer is so gnarly, we dare you to lose traction on this beast!

The Pioneer profile is designed to have a large contact patch to improve stability and grip in sketchy conditions. It's a 6.9" wide tire with a nice large center-line flat strip at the crown and progressive shoulders which make initiating and holding edge on a turn super easy.

Compound Choice:

Soft compound will feel smoother, forgiving, and more buttery underfoot. However, due to it being a soft compound it will not last as long and tends to wear out quicker.

Mid compound will increase the longevity of the tire, extending the period of time between tire changes. However, it will not be as forgiving underfoot and will have a more noticeable "edge" when carving.

TFL Pioneer Tire

Reminds me of the Trail Pro with a little more road noise. If you ride trails more than 50 percent of the time then I would highly recommend this tire.

Best tire in the game by far

Stable yet nimble with carves that are buttery smooth ! Recommend the soft compound option if riding mainly trails but if your mostly urban go with the standard. Either way the pioneer has great control and amazing feel.. like your floating!!⛵️

Trail Monster!!!

This review comes from the comparison of an already AMAZING tire, the TFL Enduro. Our trails at the house were wet and a lil muddy first time out on the new Pioneer. TFL nailed this trail tire as there are tons of grip even pushing hard and banked over! I slid out a few times but it was still controllable, tricky as hell but still somewhat controllable. Any other tire and I would have been hitting the ground. Next ride out and the ground was dry. Tire is surprisingly compliant over rough terrain and gravel. My board doesn't bounce around nearly as much, giving a much more in control feeling while being much more enjoyable and comfortable to ride. This Pioneer tire is truly a game changer for trail riding! Also the tire self cleans a lot of debris due to the much wider than normal tread. Which is also why traction is so good. Third time out was to the skate park. Again same conclusion. Tire vibrates as it is a comparison to a mud terrain on a jeep going down a paved road. But no complaints from me as there is always compromise when you want a tire to be better at one thing. And for me that's 99% trail riding. At the skatepark the tire conforms perfectly and smoothly to high baked concrete. 180°s up steep half pipes and bowls were awesome! Again despite chatter from the deep tread. And I run higher than I want to tire pressure (16.5psi) to lower rolling resistance so I have the available torque to make it up steep inclines on our trails and didn't lower it at the skatepark. VERY happy with this Pioneer and honestly can't imagine a better tire for the trails! Thank you Float Life by constantly proving you're the go to for true innovation that outperforms everyone else!!

Great Replacement for a Treaded Tire

I’ve only ridden on a shock tire so this is my first experience with a different tire. (1200 miles) There’s a little more vibration and sound on the roads and trails but that doesn’t bother me considering it feels great. When I’m “off-road” I do feel like it has great traction and climbing capabilities compared to what I’m used to. Also, the carving and turning was something I needed to have a few rides to get use to. However, once I did, it feels great on the edge of the tire!
