OK fine, you want tread?! Well then we're going to give you more tread than you can handle! We developed the Pioneer to have the deepest and widest tread available on a Onewheel™ tire BY FAR.
The Pioneer was created with the wintertime rider in mind. The rider who doesn't let a little rain or snow stop their fun. The 2.5mm deep siping on the treads significantly improves traction in wet/icy/snowy conditions and the 6mm wide and 5.5mm deep treads on the Pioneer is so gnarly, we dare you to lose traction on this beast!
The Pioneer profile is designed to have a large contact patch to improve stability and grip in sketchy conditions. It's a 6.9" wide tire with a nice large center-line flat strip at the crown and progressive shoulders which make initiating and holding edge on a turn super easy.
Compound Choice:
Soft compound will feel smoother, forgiving, and more buttery underfoot. However, due to it being a soft compound it will not last as long and tends to wear out quicker.
Mid compound will increase the longevity of the tire, extending the period of time between tire changes. However, it will not be as forgiving underfoot and will have a more noticeable "edge" when carving.

Tire is great beating up on the fat tire bikes

Good traction off road, very stable on road. Square profile makes it a little harder to turn on edge but the trade off for stability is worth it to me.

The Pioneer is like those old trucks we had as kids. When the going gets tough, the claws come out! It's smooth and nimble on the streets and a beast in the trails. Only downside is your board will NEVER be clean again.

I have the 5-inch billet MTE on my GT. The 555 Enduro is nimble/squirrely fun on streets and firm-packed trails, but the Pioneer is the answer to Wisconsin winters. Sidewall for days! Deep tread! A profile that lets you lean far into an edge! This makes my winter rides great and I have heard its a great tire on gravel and loose dirt. Thanks TFL!
