Product Description

The Pioneer and the Enduro had a lovechild and it identifies as a ThunderCat. At a 6.75 width, this tire has a bit more carve than the Pioneer and holds traction significantly better than the Enduro. The tread depth is deeper than Enduro, but shallower than Pioneer however we spaced the treads extra wide at the shoulder to maximize grip through heavy turns. Speaking of tread, this custom tread design is ridiculously sick! Cat claws + lightning bolts create the base tread and a combination of siping + stippling patterns sprinked on top make "wheelslip notifications" a thing of the past. Oh, and peep that sidewall design and let the 80's nostalgia flow through your soul.

Tread and sidewall designed by KASH Harrison

Compound Choice:
Soft compound will feel smoother, forgiving, and more buttery underfoot. However, due to it being a soft compound it will not last as long and tends to wear out quicker.

Mid compound will increase the longevity of the tire, extending the period of time between tire changes. However, it will not be as forgiving underfoot and will have a more noticeable "edge" when carving.

GT/GT-S Series Compatible = Fits 6.5" Hubs Only. Does NOT fit Rally Edition with 6" hub

BTG | 6" Hub Compatible is for "Big Tire Gang" = Will only work with Extended Rails. Does NOT fit a 6.5" Hub

XR Growler = Will only work on a 6" Hub with our shortened "Growler" rails installed on an XR board.  *First production run of this tire have a double printed Float logo error*

growler TC is smaller than the Lil Duro

I have been running the Lil duro on my growler since its release. I had to grind away a lot of my torque box run it it less than 15 psi to avoid rubbing.

The growler Thundercat is significantly smaller (4-10mm smaller in diameter when inflated), and does not rub on the torque box. even at high pressure.

The growler Thundercat is less "boaty" than the lil duro.

The growler Thundercat is much louder and you can feel the treads on pavement.

Both are great tires. Thank you for looking out for growler builds!

So far I'm a fan!

I just installed these this weekend and went for a trail ride. I gotta say. I'm a fan! Very good grip on a variety of terrain. And its surprisingly quiet on the street. I got the soft compound because the mid compound was out of stock. But so far I've not regretted it.

Impressive Tire

Nothing beats this tire for off-road. The round profile is ideal to handle bumps and dips coming to you from random sides. Also it really helps to climb steep hills by zig-zagging without a need to "fight the board". Lots of cushion, very smooth and soft ride.

It barely fits the WTF BTG rails and does not fit the Drop Top Fender. Since this tire is becoming "a new standard", we need better support, Jeff :) At least some risers, and ideally a new fender. Thanks!

BTG X7

It doesn't fit
You will need extended rails if you're trying to fit this on a fungineers board.
X10, or WTF extended rails only for BTG

Hey Jon, yes the BTG version of any tire will require extended rails. The X7 is stock length rails so the BTG Thundercat, along with any other BTG tire, will not fit. You will want to get a standard size 6' hub (XR) tire.

I love this tire so much. I’ve been racing on wheels on the buris Shredz tire and as soon as I switch to this one, I started getting way better I love it. Thanks thanks Jeff in the float life.
