Remember how big of a difference it was going from a 6" XR hub to a 6.5" GT hub? Well double that feeling, but in the other (actually good) direction and you'll start to get an idea of how amazing the MTE 5" hub rides.

For XR & GT riders:
N42: Highest speed, perfect for downhill racers trying to hit 30 mph, but also the lowest cost option for anyone who isn't pushing their board to the limit. (Stock XR & GT = N42)
N48: Jeff's Favorite, a balanced option for those who like to ride through pushback at around 23 mph, and also want a little extra torque for climbing hills.
N52: Highest torque option, perfect for anyone who "respects pushback" and keeps it around 20 mph, and also wants the maximum extra torque for hills.

For GTS riders:
We recommend the N52 which is nearly identical to the stock GTS hub performance.  The N48 or N42 will also work but you'll lose 5-10% torque with the benefit being an even higher top speed if that's what you're looking for.

MORE THAN ENOUGH-TFL Knocks it OUT Yet Again!!

This review is as much for the MTE hub as it is for the TFL organization...
Get the MTE hub...now! Especially for the GT, this is a game changer. I was rocking a Enduro with life savers on my stock hub. I was running life savers and felt they pulled the sidewall in a little, compromising the shoulders of the tire. It still rode great but a necessary trade-off with a 6.5" hub/tire. Enter the MTE, 5" hub!Yet again, TFL corrects yet another of shortcoming of the stock GT. I coupled the MTE with the 655 Enduro and BOOM, mind blown! The increased volume and suspension were immediately noticeable and it is confidence inspiring. I used to be apprehensive about bonking and now I seek out any bump/hump/bonkable obstacle to launch off of! Follow Jeff's instructions on the install and it will be breeze to make the best upgrade for your board...as good or better than WTF rails. FINALLY, just let me say that TFL RULEZ! Most of us are consumers in this world and TFL stands out as the organization with THE BEST customer service I ever encounter. From their amazing, informative and entertaining YouTube channel to their quick responses to questions and, of course their innovative products, I am super stoked to FLOAT ON with TFL!

MTE 5" hub

The hub is great, and riding is ever so much smoother. I do wish I had bought one with just a little more torque, though because there is a hill I really want to get up! One other thing- I really miss my mag handle....

Skeptical, but it for sure changed my mind

I needed a new hub for a stock GT and the only reason I got the MTE was because I couldn’t pass up the incredibly priced bundle TFL had. I was skeptical there would be much of a ride difference because I already have a GT with a 6” hub and I definitely like it better than stock. Pffffff, the MTE ride feels sooo good. Especially since TFL has the only full size GT tire that fits without modifying (655 Enduro). Im for sure switching out my 6” on my other board for the MTE.
