What's the difference between Onewheel's Rail Guards vs Sidekicks? Our sidekicks have tried and tested many different adhesives and have developed one that stays on your board with strength while being much easier to remove than other rail guards on the market. Onewheel and other brands have adhesive that's very difficult to remove when you are ready to switch them out. Sidekicks are also the original rail protection and come un-branded for a clean minimalist look.
I have 2 kids and frequently ride at night once the kids are in bed. The Orange makes me feel much better about riding at night as my board lights up from far away. Trying not to get hit by a car cause that would suck!!!
Love my sidekicks, no complaints except I wish there was a cutout for the onewheel+ badge!
I'll start by saying that they're basically just thick stickers. And the adhesive could probably be a little stickier. And the weird puzzle piece cutout is a bit annoying.
But beyond that Sidekicks are definitely the best kind of rail protection for your board. The OEM guards are probably better, but if you're buying stuff from TFL then you probably have a Float Plate, which to my understanding the OEM guards don't work with. They're thick, and will work well enough for a decent amount of time. Don't have any reservations about buying these for your boards. I certainly have no regrets.
Sick look and doing a great job of protecting my original sides!!
My rail protection looks great but after the first trail ride I noticed one of the underside protectors was missing and the other one was half way off. Maybe stronger adhesive is needed?
